RICE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — The owner of a local business is having his head shaved, for a good cause.

As part of the national Stars for Heroes campaign, Rice Lake’s Hardee’s won a competition among five locations to raise the most donations for USA Cares, an organization that supports local and national veterans organizations.

Among the Hardee’s in Rice Lake, Medford, Stevens Point, Prairie du Chien and Waukon, Iowa, a total of $7,090. Rice Lake collected the most at $2,136.50.

As part of the friendly competition, owner of the locations, Kevin Hanusa, pledged to have his head shaved at the winner’s store. District Manager, Ed, “Fast Eddy” Barnes will also join him. At 2 p.m. today, the haircuts happen, courtesy of Town and Country Barber Shop. The public is welcome.
