MINONG, Wis. (WJMC) — A Minong man is in jail for allegedly firing a gun during a verbal altercation with another man and later threatening police.

Washburn County Sheriff Dennis Stuart said 29-year-old Brady Sikorski was sought by police after he allegedly fired his gun twice while driving away from a verbal argument with another man late Tuesday evening.

Police and the Washburn and Burnett Special Response Team went to Sikorski’s residence to arrest him. Officers deployed tear gas into the residence, but later found he was not home at the time.

The next day, Sikorski returned home and allegedly made threats toward police. Following a brief standoff, with the SRT again deploying tear gas, Sikorski exited his residence and was taken into custody without incident Wednesday afternoon.

Sikorski was in the Washburn County Jail on preliminary charges of threats to law enforcement, endangering safety with a dangerous weapon, bail jumping and disorderly conduct.
