HAYWARD, Wis. (NWN) — Two area businesses were recognized for as leaders in tourism.
The Wisconsin Governor’s Outdoor Industry Awards, held for the second time, honors businesses and organizations for outstanding contributions to outdoor recreation across the state.
Named Destination of the Year was Mt. Telemark Village, in Cable, home of the American Birkebeiner ski race in February. Years of investments and improvements have turned the location into a year-round destination with world-class ski, hiking and mountain bike trails.
Named Outdoor Business of the Year was Hayward Power Sports. It was recognized for providing riders, boaters and outdoor enthusiasts with neighborly customer service, expert guidance and supporting local recreation initiatives.
The awards were presented June 24 in Madison.
