RICE LAKE and HAUGEN, Wis. (WJMC) — The natural gas issue with WE Energies services in Rice Lake and Haugen has been resolved.
The company said midday Wednesday the natural gas supply and equipment has been checked and everything is now working properly and natural gas appliances are safe to use again.
The utility says, if gas service has not returned, or if you turned off appliances, such as a stove, water heater or boiler, a technician will need to come out to relight them. Do not relight them yourselves. Contact WE Energies at 800-261-5325 to schedule an appointment with a technician with an adult at the property.
WE Energies said some residents reported higher levels of carbon monoxide in their homes, prompting the alert early Wednesday morning. The alert and issue is now resolved.
