NEW AUBURN, Wis. (WRN) — New Auburn High School is in the running to win one million dollars from T-Mobile, and you can help.
The grand prize will be given to one of 25 high schools who were voted into T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights contest. New Auburn was one of those schools, winning an initial prize of $25,000. Now, they are in the running to win the grand prize of $1 million if they get enough votes.
Athletic Director Karson Rihn [Reen] says the school has big plans for either prize.
“Well, the million, we’d really like to be able to increase our facilities and improve them. The biggest thing we’re looking at is potentially rubberizing a track and putting our football field within it,” Rihn said. “If we’re not fortunate [to get] that, with our 25,000, looking to improve our weight room, particularly obviously for our student-athletes as well as our community.”
Anyone can vote for New Auburn, once per day through Friday, and the district is looking for people to show their support for the school. And if they don’t win the top prize, Rihn says there’s a Spirit Award prize they could receive.
