BARRON, Wis. (WJMC) — One passenger is dead and two others severely injured from a single-vehicle crash south of Barron on Tuesday morning.
Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said a vehicle was driving south on County Highway O, south of Wickware, when the vehicle left the road at high speed, struck an embankment, rolled over and collided with trees.
A 50-year-old man from Wilson, sitting in the front passenger seat, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver, a 34-year-old woman from Wilson, and a rear seat passenger, a 44-year-old man from Florida, were both extricated and airlifted to Regions Hospital in Minnesota. They had serious injuries, the sheriff said. No names have been released.
The cause of the crash was under investigation by the sheriff’s department and state patrol.
