MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Last week’s record snowstorms caused blood donations across the state to be cancelled, and the Red Cross is looking for help.

Regional Communications Director Jen Warren says nearly 30 drives were cancelled that led to almost 1,000 donations not being collected.

“The Red Cross must collect more than 2,600 platelets and nearly 13,000 blood donations every day. So when you have weather that causes the cancellation of blood drives and it results in over 1,000 uncollected donations, that is a lot,” Warren said.
