CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WJMC) — Sandbags are being offered to Chippewa County residents as heavy rain is in the forecast for Friday evening and Saturday.
The National Weather Service and Chippewa County Emergency Management said up to 5 inches is possible, creating a risk of flash flooding.
Up to 50 sandbags, per resident, are available at the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office. The bags will need to be filled at the highway shops in Chippewa Falls, Cornell, Boyd or Bloomer. You will need to bring your own shovel.
