(St. Louis, MO) — The Brewers claimed a split of their rain-shortened two-game series at St. Louis with a 6-2 victory Wednesday afternoon. Reliever Aaron Ashby got the win by pitching two hitless innings. Milwaukee won the game by scoring four times in the top of the first inning. Andrew Vaughn’s three-run homer was the big blow. Jackson Chourio returned to action by going 6-for-10 in the two games with three doubles. The Brewers are off tonight (Thursday), then host the New York Yankees in a weekend series at American Family Field.

Stephon Castle had 21 points and De’Aaron Fox added 16 points for San Antonio, which shot 50% from the field and 41% on 3-pointers. (Milwaukee, WI) — The Bucks have a thin, three-percent chance of getting the top pick in the lottery before Sunday’s 2026 NBA Draft. The event gets underway at 2:00pm Sunday at the McCormick Place convention center in Chicago. The Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, and Brooklyn Nets have the best odds of winding up with the number one pick – 14 percent each. The situation could change if Milwaukee decides to trade superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. Team ownership has promised a quick decision on which direction to take.

(Freedom, WI) — The Badgers shot an air-ball when it comes to connecting with the top high school basketball prospect in the state. Six-foot-eight forward Donovan Davis announced his commitment to Iowa State Wednesday at the high school fieldhouse in Freedom. Wisconsin offered him a scholarship in 2024. Davis is ranked the number-32 overall recruit in the 2027 class according to Rivals-dot-com.

(Green Bay, WI) — New Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon says he’s not kidding. He’s not bringing a defensive scheme with him to Green Bay. Packers-dot-com reports Gannon has spent his first few months with the team getting to know his players, determining what they are good at, and figuring out how all the pieces fit together. He is head coach Matt LaFleur’s fourth defensive coordinator in eight years.

Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo will not run in the Preakness Stakes next weekend. Trainer Cherie DeVaux announced the plan to skip the Preakness and set sights on the Belmont Stakes on June 6 at Saratoga Race Course in upstate New York. Golden Tempo is the third Derby winner in the past five years not to be entered in the Preakness. For various reasons, it is the sixth time in eight years the Preakness will happen with no chance of a Triple Crown on the line. American Pharoah in 2015 and Justify in 2018 are the only horses to sweep all three races over the past four decades.
