(Milwaukee, WI) — Less than 24 hours before the 2026 NBA Draft gets its start, the Bucks have traded Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat. Milwaukee receives Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Junior, Kasparas Jakucionis, and three first-round draft picks. Popular sixth man Bobby Portis is also headed south. The Bucks now have picks 10 and 13 in the draft. Antetokounmpo will pair with Bam Adebayo to give Miami one of the most dangerous duos in the league. Milwaukee chose this offer over a strong one from the Boston Celtics. The draft starts tonight (Tuesday) at 7pm in Brooklyn, New York.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are trading Julius Randle and a first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets as part of a three-team deal that also includes the Chicago Bulls, a person with knowledge of the terms said Monday night. The Timberwolves are sending the 28th pick in Tuesday’s draft to the Nets and will be receiving the No. 33 pick that will be made in the second round on Wednesday night, said the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal has not received the required approvals from the league office.

(Cincinnati, OH) — Veteran starter Brandon Woodruff made his return from the injured list a memorable one. Woodruff retired the first 16 batters he faced and only allowed one hit in six shutout innings as Milwaukee edged the Reds in 10 innings, 2-1. Joey Ortiz broke the scoreless tie in the 10th with a sacrifice fly, and the eventual winning run scored on a wild pitch. Joel Kuhnel picked up the save, and Trevor Megill was the winner. Brandon Sproat starts for the Brewers tonight (Tuesday) in Cincinnati.
Pregame at 5:35pm. First pitch at 6:10pm on AM1240 & 96.5FM

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Shohei Ohtani hit a leadoff home run, Freddie Freeman also went deep to break a sixth-inning tie and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Minnesota Twins 2-1. Eric Lauer pitched six hitless innings for Los Angeles after opener Will Klein allowed Byron Buxton’s homer in the first. Freeman’s 13th of the season helped the Dodgers win after losing back-to-back games for the first time since May 11-12. Tanner Scott converted his 10th save in 11 chances, but Los Angeles lost outfielder Kyle Tucker and catcher Dalton Rushing during the game. Tucker left in the second with low back spasms, and Rushing was pulled in the third to get checked for a concussion.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Oklahoma capitalized on North Carolina’s uncharacteristic pitching struggles and got another clutch performance from LJ Mercurius out of the bullpen on its way to a 13-2 victory in the winner-take-all Game 3 of the College World Series finals. The win gave the Sooners their first national championship since 1994. The Sooners won the Southeastern Conference’s seventh straight title after finishing 11th in the regular season and entering the NCAA Tournament off losses in seven of nine games. North Carolina was runner-up for the third time since 2006 and now has 13 CWS appearances without a title.

(Green Bay, WI) — The Packers are down to just one joint practice in training camp. ACME Packing Company-dot-com reports that head coach Matt LaFleur typically schedules multiple opportunities to work his veterans in controlled situations, then plays the rookies and other new players in preseason games. The Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers have decided they won’t do any this summer. Green Bay will hold one joint practice with the Arizona Cardinals.

(Madison, WI) — It has become apparent that if Badgers football is going to return to its previous level, the improvement has to start on the offensive line. That’s where Wisconsin made its reputation, and there are reasons to believe it can happen. Yahoo Sports reports that new offensive line coach Eric Mateos has already shown his talent as a recruiter, and the talent available for the offensive line is much deeper now. The Badgers think they have three legitimate tackles to go, and that compares to one or fewer last season.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Lionel Messi now has the World Cup scoring record with 18 goals in his career after scoring twice in a 2-0 victory over Austria. He scored in the 38th minute and again in stoppage time after missing a penalty kick in the ninth minute Monday in Dallas. The goal for the record of 17 gave Argentina a 1-0 lead two days before Messi’s 39th birthday, and amid the concern of an ailing father back at home. It was the sixth consecutive World Cup game in which Messi has scored. He entered the game even with Germany striker Miroslav Klose, whose 16 was later matched by Frances’s Kylian Mbappé
