WAUSAU, Wis. (WRN) — Wisconsin congressman Tom Tiffany entered the race for Wisconsin governor last week.
The 7th District Republican says the state needs to get back to the basics like infrastructure and education.
“I mean, that’s the kind of stuff that should be at the top of the list. To me, that is the needs of the people of State of Wisconsin, not the wants. Sometimes our elected officials like Governor Evers and others get those two things mixed up,” Tiffany said.
Tiffany pledged he’ll enact a freeze on property taxes if elected.
The other major Republican candidate is Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann. Milwaukee area business owner Bill Berrian dropped out last week after it was reported that he followed several sexually explicit writers online.
Democratic governor Tony Evers is not seeking a third term, and a number of Democrats are also running.
