TOWN OF RINGLE, (WRN) — Residents are assessing the damage from a tornado which swept through the Marathon County Town of Ringle on Friday.

Fire Chief Chris Kielman says a relief account is being set up through the town in addition to others set up through local foundations.

“If any cash and gift card donations want to be given to town of Ringo directly, we will have a relief fund set up for the township people that will be taken care of by the Town of Ringle clerk and treasurer. So we’re trying to get that up and running,” Kielman said.

The EF3 tornado cut a diagonal path across the township located east of Wausau, damaging more than 140 homes. Kielman says about 40 households are unable to return, while the rest have gas and power and sustained varied amounts of damage.
