ALMENA, Wis. (WJMC) — A pickup rolled and caught fire after a two-vehicle crash on Barron County Highway P, north of Almena, Sunday evening.

The state patrol said a pickup with a dump trailer was driving south on County P, just after 5:45 p.m., when a northbound pickup crossed the centerline and sideswiped the truck and struck the trailer. The northbound pickup rolled onto its roof and caught fire.

The driver, 26-year-old Oscar Ledesma, of Cumberland, was injured but crawled out from the passenger side of the flipped truck and was pulled to safety by a Cumberland police officer. The driver of the pickup with the trailer, 65-year-old Michael Wallace, of Springbrook, was not injured.

Ledesma was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash for him. The collision was under investigation by the Barron County Sheriff’s Department and State Patrol.
