MENOMONIE, Wis. (WJMC) — Authorities have released the names of the victim and the alleged driver in an OWI hit-and-run.
Dunn County Sheriff Kevin Bygd said 17-year-old Addison S. Bowell, of Menomonie, was the driver. The victim was 54-year-old Ann M. Seidl, of Eau Claire.
The sheriff said Seidl was running on the left side of the road and wearing bright clothing and a reflective safety vest, when she was struck by a vehicle on County Highway Y, south of Menomonie. She was found deceased Saturday morning.
Bowell was arrested for hit and run and homicide by OWI. Formal charges had not yet been filed as of Monday, but Bowell appeared in court yesterday for traffic citations, including OWI, inattentive driving and crossing the center line.
