MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Will Northwest Wisconsin’s congressman, Tom Tiffany, run for Governor?
Tiffany says is not quite ready to announce a decision on his political future.
“I am going to make a decision in the next 30 to 60 days whether to run for governor or not,” Tiffany said.
The 7th District Republican said on WSAU’s ‘Meg Ellefson Show’ his decision centers on “two fundamental questions.
“Where can I do the most good for the people of the State of Wisconsin? Am I the best candidate on the Republican side to be able to win this race? And if the answer is yes to both of those, then I’m going to run. But we got to make sure . . . that all the Ducks are in a row here,” Tiffany said.
Tiffany would be the most experienced Republican candidate if he enters the race. He’s in his third term representing the heavily Republican district in northwest Wisconsin and also served in both chambers of the Wisconsin Legislature from 2010 to 2016.
Republicans Washington County Executive Josh Schoeman and corporate CEO and former Navy SEAL Bill Berrien are already in the race. Partisan primary elections take place in August 2026.
