MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — If you’re looking to buy a used car online, make sure you’re not getting a lemon.
Wisconsin Better Business Bureau spokeswoman Lisa Schiller says it’s important to know the history of a car and get a look at it before you sign a title.
“You’ve got to look under the hood, sit in the driver’s seat, and ensure that the engine runs smoothly,” Schiller said. “Always take a test drive before you sign the final paper. There’s no substitute for seeing a car in person.”
You should also get the car inspected by an independent source rather than relying on the say-so of the seller. That way you can be sure what you’re getting is worth the price you’re paying.
