LA CROSSE, Wis. (WRN) — Vice President JD Vance was in La Crosse on Thursday to tout the efforts of the Trump Administration’s tariffs.
Vance says the fees will bring jobs and wages back to the US.
“If you build crap overseas and try to undercut the wages of American workers, you’re gonna pay a big fat tariff before you bring it back into the United States of America,” Vance said.
Economists say the tariffs have instead led to reduced production at tech companies and manufacturers, and dozens of countries are suspending postal service to the US because of duties imposed on everyday deliveries.
