Braeden Carrington came off the bench to score 20 points. The Badgers were able to connect on only seven-of-26 3-point attempts. Wisconsin tries to bounce back Sunday afternoon when the Iowa Hawkeyes visit the Kohl Center in Madison.

(Green Bay, WI) — Packers special teams coach Rich Bisaccia has left his position with the team. Head coach Matt LaFleur made the official announcement Tuesday. Bisaccia also served as assistant head coach. He had been on the staff in Green Bay since 2022. LaFleur called Bisaccia “a tremendous resource to our entire coaching staff and me.”
(Milwaukee, WI) — Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo says he’s almost ready to return to the lineup. Time is growing short if Milwaukee is going to qualify for the play-in tournament. Its best player has missed nine games since suffering a calf injury on January 23rd. Yahoo Sports reports that Antetokounmpo is telling reporters he’s healthy and just has to “check the boxes” to be ready for game action. He’s talking about 1-on-1, 3-on-3, and then 5-on-5 practices. He’s listed as questionable for Friday’s game.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Timberwolves finalized their cost-cutting move with Mike Conley by signing the veteran guard two weeks after trading him away. Conley was first sent in a three-team deal to the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls packaged him with Coby White in a swap with the Charlotte Hornets the following day. The Hornets waived Conley the day after that. Being traded twice made Conley eligible to rejoin the Timberwolves after lowering their luxury tax bill by jettisoning his original salary. Getting beneath the first apron allowed them the flexibility to acquire guard Ayo Dosunmu in a separate deal with the Bulls.
FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Minnesota Twins right-hander Pablo López has a “significant tear” in the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow that is expected to require season-ending surgery. Twins general manager Jeremy Zoll told reporters Tuesday that López will seek a second opinion but likely is headed for a Tommy John procedure. López ended a bullpen session early on Monday after experiencing soreness. He was the team’s opening day starter in each of the last three seasons and scheduled to pitch for his native Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic next month. López is making $21.75 million this season and signed through next year.
MILAN (AP) — Jordan Stolz will be seeking his third speedskating gold medal of the Milan Cortina Olympics when he takes to the ice in the 1,500 meters. He’ll be favored again Thursday, just as he was before winning the 500 meters and 1,000 meters earlier in the Winter Games. The 21-year-old American began skating at age 5 on a frozen pond in the backyard of his family’s Wisconsin home. That was after he and his older sister were fascinated by watching eight-time Olympic medalist Apolo Ohno compete in short track at the 2010 Vancouver Games. Stolz can become the first man since 1994 to claim three golds in long track speedskating at one Olympics.
