MENOMONIE, Wis. (NWN) — A motorcycle rider has died after a collision with a semi in Northwest Dunn County Friday afternoon.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened just before 4:45 p.m. Friday, on County Highway K, in New Haven Township, south of the Barron-Dunn County line.

Authorities said the motorcycle was driving south on County K and the semi was driving north, and the two collided while driving around a curve. The 51-year-old motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet. He was airlifted to Regions Hospital in Minnesota, where he was pronounced deceased.

The semi occupants were not injured. No names were released. The crash was under investigation.
