LADYSMITH, Wis. (WJMC) — Rusk County government’s computer network is down due to some sort of cybersecurity attack.
In a press release Wednesday, the county said it was working with cybersecurity experts to determine the extent and implications of the incident and restore secure operations to its network. They are working to fix it and are working to keep community and employee data secure.
Full information may take several weeks, the county said.
The incident appears to have started Saturday, with the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office reporting they were not able to access the computer network to provide dispatch logs to the public.
County departments remain open.
