SHELL LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — A crash near Shell Lake involving two Jeeps has resulted in charges for one driver.

The State Patrol said a Jeep Wrangler failed to yield at the intersection of County Highway B and Sawyer Creek Road and was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Thursday afternoon. The Wrangler driver allegedly showed signs of impairment.

After a field sobriety test, 61-year-old John Powers, of Shell Lake, was arrested for operating while under the influence of a controlled substance, and booked in the Washburn County Jail. Powers also sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The other driver was not injured.
