A man wanted by US Marshals was arrested in Rice Lake following a bicycle and foot chase and a brief manhunt.

Rice Lake police said 27-year-old Axel Miranda-Rosado was sought by police after a domestic disturbance in the county was reported late Friday night. The suspect fled into a cornfield and evaded police.

Later, just before 9 a.m. Saturday, Rice Lake police saw Miranda-Rosado exit an apartment building and he fled on a bicycle, then on foot, hiding in the area of Shudlick Park. He was eventually taken into custody near the river with the help of a K9.

Miranda-Rosado was booked on charges of battery, criminal damage, domestic disorderly conduct, intimidation or threats to a witness, resisting an officer and strangulation and suffocation. Police said he was wanted on federal weapons charges as well.
