TURTLE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — The Turtle Lake School District says the shooter involved in the incident Wednesday afternoon in Barron was a former student at the district, years ago.
School officials and police said the shooter posted a graphic video of the shooting to the social media app SnapChat. This video may have been received or viewed by students in the district.
The district said the school counselor is offering support services to students and families, and urges parents to talk with their children about the incident.
The Barron County Sheriff’s Department and Barron Police Department were in contact with SnapChat and working to remove the video.
