(Chicago, IL) — Andrew Rohde converted two crucial free throws with eight seconds left to preserve an 85-82 victory for the Badgers Thursday night. The win over the Washington Huskies came in the third round of the Big Ten Tournament. Guards John Blackwell and Nick Boyd did the heavy lifting with a combined 57 points – 34 by Blackwell and 23 from Boyd. Wisconsin plays Illinois tonight (Friday). It edged the Illini 92-90 in a road game a month ago.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Travis Konecny scored the lone goal in a shootout to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night. After Flyers goalie Dan Vladar stopped all three Wild attempts, Konecny ended it with a wrister over Jesper Wallstedt’s shoulder. Emil Andrade and Owen Tippett scored in regulation, and Vladar made 21 saves for the Flyers. They’ve have won six of eight. Matt Boldy and Kirill Kaprizov scored for Minnesota. Quinn Hughes had two assists, and Wallstedt made 24 saves. The Wild are 3-0-2 in their last five.
(Goodyear, AZ) — The Brewers are hoping right-handed starter Quinn Priester can avoid surgery to fix his wrist injury. Priester will be on the injured list to start the season. He is the team’s top starter returning from last year. The bats were the problem Thursday night when Milwaukee was shut out on three hits in a 1-0 loss. The Brewers host the A’s this afternoon.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have signed Kyler Murray. They focused their latest quarterback search on the first overall pick from the 2019 NFL draft who was just released by the Arizona Cardinals. Murray visited Vikings headquarters before agreeing to join them just one day after being cut by the Cardinals. Arizona owes him $36.8 million in guaranteed salary this season. The Vikings have been seeking a challenger or replacement for J.J. McCarthy. Murray has an AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award, two Pro Bowl selections and a 67% career completion percentage.
(Green Bay, WI) — The Packers’ running back room is getting thin with the departure of Emanuel Wilson. The 26-year-old free agent has signed a one-year deal with the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. Wilson became a free agent after Green Bay failed to make a qualifying offer. He was popular with the team’s coaches and his teammates after working hard and rolling up more than a thousand yards in three seasons as a backup to Josh Jacobs.
