CINCINNATI (AP) — Milwaukee Brewers reliever Abner Uribe plans to serve his one-game suspension Wednesday night, nearly a month after Major League Baseball handed down the penalty. The suspension takes effect for Milwaukee’s game against the Cincinnati Reds as the Brewers attempt to complete a three-game sweep. Uribe was suspended and fined an undisclosed amount on May 29, three days after he celebrated an inning-ending strikeout by making three WWE-style crotch chops while facing St. Louis’ dugout during a 6-0 victory over the Cardinals.

Ohtani helped himself with an RBI single to spark a three-run third inning against Twins starter Joe Ryan on Wednesday night after the two-way superstar fell behind with a three-run second. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Twins right-hander Mick Abel has been recommended for arthroscopic elbow surgery after a recent setback in his injury recovery. He was assessed by orthopedic specialist Dr. Keith Meister after experiencing soreness following a bullpen session last week. The Twins had Abel lined up to rejoin the rotation Sunday. He has not pitched since being sidelined by inflammation after his last start on April 14. Abel threw 14 consecutive scoreless innings before the injury. He was acquired from the Philadelphia Phillies with minor league catcher Eduardo Tait the day before the trade deadline last season for closer Jhoan Duran.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Natasha Howard had 21 points and a season-high 15 rebounds, Olivia Miles scored 10 of her 21 points in the fourth quarter, and the Minnesota Lynx rallied from a 12-point deficit to beat the Washington Mystics 78-76. Kayla McBride made five 3-pointers and finished with 19 points for the Lynx. Minnesota coach Cheryl Reeve has 378 career wins, one behind Mike Thibault for most in WNBA history. Duke sophomore guard Isaiah Evans has his NBA landing spot: Minnesota. The Brooklyn Nets selected Evans with the 33rd overall pick in Wednesday’s second round of the draft. IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Christian Pulisic says he feels “great” now after missing one World Cup match with a calf injury. He hopes to play for the U.S. in its final group match against Turkey. Pulisic played a dynamic first half in the Americans’ historic 4-1 victory over Paraguay to open their home World Cup nearly two weeks ago, but the AC Milan midfielder came off at halftime after an injury from training stiffened up. Pulisic said nearly played in the U.S’ 2-0 victory over Australia but was held out to get closer to full fitness for the games ahead.
