SPOONER, Wis. (NWN) — Celebrate June Dairy Month in Spooner this weekend.
The Tri-County Dairy Breakfast is set for Saturday at the Washburn County Fairgrounds in Spooner. They’ll be serving pancakes, maple syrup, honeybutter, sausage, cheese, milk, coffee, strawberries and ice cream from 6:30 until 10:30. Adults seven dollars, children age five to twelve, five dollars, and under age five eat free.
The Washburn County Fair will once again offer special activities. Cheryl Coons Tri-County Dairy Promoters and Washburn County Fair Board talks about a returning contest, during the breakfast.
“We’ve got the butter carving contest. The subject of butter carving this year is going to be animals. If you want to be a part of the butter carving you do need to get there and let them know that you want to participate in this because they do have limited stations available and a limited amount of butter,” Coons said.
You can also bring in your entries for the Outrageous Oatmeal Cookie Contest, which will serve as a qualifying event to the Wisconsin State Fair. Check the Washburn County Fair website or Facebook page for guidelines.
Other activities include kiddie barn, FFA Alumni silent auction, barrel train rides, antique tractors, and music with Tommy Rae. Also, free ice cream cones.
The fairgrounds are located on the south side of Spooner on Beaver Brook Avenue, off Highway 63.
