MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — There’s a good chance we’ve already dealt with the worst when it comes to the number of mosquitoes out in Wisconsin.
“Right now would be about the peak period for the these floodwater species, and then after this it dries up, usually in July and August, and things really take a dive. So by the end of the season, not bad at all and even really over the next couple of weeks, we’d expect it to get better,” said UW-Madison entomology professor Susan Paskewitz.
Paskewitz says more rain and higher temps extending later into the summer could draw out the mosquito season.
